Excellent food. Ordered the chicken waffles and the nourish bowl with tofu added. Food was great. Good sized portions and the chicken was juicy and sweet. The nourish bowl was a good size, and the portion of halloumi was generous given most places would have up-charged. Matcha was delicious. Family friendly. Immaculate atmosphere and dog friendly as well. Cute little shops to have a browse and shop in after dining. Reasonably priced at 68 dollars for brunch for two where competitors would have charged 80 plus. Maybe add a dog menu? Will definitely be back! :) Wish I had been here as a kid ( the playground looks awesome!)
A wonderful place to stop during a journey and an excellent choice for a family lunch. There is plenty of both indoor and outdoor seating, as well as a play area for children. The food is made with fresh ingredients and is delicious. They have some great vegetarian options. I highly recommend the kūmara with falafel and salad, it’s fresh, delicious, and very satisfying.
One of our favourite cafes, worth the drive. The outside area is now fenced which is amazing for kids. Great coffee, wonderful food and the highlight every time for my boys is feeding the sheep and all the huge vehicles to play on.
Ample parking. Accessible. Good menu. Sizeable play area. Feed the animals with affordable food bags for children (or adults!). Friendly counter service. Happy to wait for my meal during a busy period because of the space and distractions. Meals are reasonably priced for the quality of food and the atmosphere. Would happily eat here again. Would travel here just for a good cuppa and yarns. My stomach was happy. My kid was happy. I was happy.
**Disappointing experience – wouldn’t recommend for a birthday celebration** We booked a table for a large group at Village Cafe to celebrate my dad’s birthday. Everyone ordered food and drinks, and we were looking forward to having a nice family celebration. We brought our own birthday cake so we could sing happy birthday and celebrate together, only to be charged **$2 per person for bringing the cake in**. Personally, I don’t think customers should be charged a per-person fee simply for bringing in a birthday cake, especially when a large group has already booked a table and spent money on food and drinks at the venue. A cake is part of celebrating a birthday — it’s not something we were expecting to be charged extra for. Unfortunately, the unexpected charge really put a dampener on what was supposed to be a special occasion and ruined the birthday vibe for us. It certainly didn’t feel like a venue that welcomes or encourages birthday celebrations. Very disappointing, and unfortunately **not somewhere I would choose to celebrate a birthday again.**
