Great little stop for a quick breakfast bite. The Eggs Benedict were great, and the bacon and hash are tasty. The coffee was pretty good, too, and the service was quick. The staff were nice and patient as we figured out our order. I definitely recommend this place for breakfast on your way down from Hamilton!

The Leadlight Cafe changed hands in March, the Leadlight side of the business has also moved. Today there were three staff, two staring at their mobile phones in front of me, they didn't once look up, show any interest, in their only customer. The toilet uncleaned, the paper towel bin filled to the brim and cafe looked dirty. The food looked undesirable.

Smelly interior ( paint or material fumes), dirty, with tables being piles up for storage and defunct copy machine. Next to road with cars going past, music in the kitchen and electrical appliances being noisy. Seems all over the place with very young staff ... looks and feels rundown and cheap. Coffee was good.

A group of us went to this café for morning tea. We were advised that the coffees could only be served in takeaway cups as it would take too long for normal cups. The place was empty of other customers. We requested water, no glasses or bottles were available. It took about 30 mins for everyone to get served (with several wrong orders) and then after this the scones etc arrived. The date scones had melted cheese on top weirdly. The kitchen was visible and looked in disarray. The reason we couldn't have normal coffee cups is the sinks were full with old water with all of yesterdays dishes still in them. The two staff running this place were clearly out of there depth.
The toilets - No paper, rubbish bins overflowing from day before obviously no cleaning schedule in place.
Will not be returning to this Café again.

On arrival we were greeted in a friendly fashion. My wife chose for me from the lunch menu while I looked around. As we sat down a very nice cup of tea arrived at our table served in beautifully decorated china. After about 10 minutes a beautifully presented plate of fish, chips and salad was served to our table along with a nicely presented plate containing pancakes and grilled bananas for my mother inlaw (notoriously hard to please as she is chef from way back with all the certificates to prove it). Our meal was one to be enjoyed. The staff were friendly and attentive. I found it hard believe that this was the same establishment as the one that was covered in a couple of the previous reviews. I guess we will have to return again soon to find out.
