We stopped for a late breakfast on our journey from Raglan to Auckland. My wife had the Creamy Mushrooms and I had the Mince on Toast, both with Crispy Bacon. Absolutely delicious with really nice Toast. We also had Flat Whites. The coffee was great and nice and hot. The Cabinet Food looked lovely too. Staff were really friendly.

We stopped for lunch at Breaking Bread after biking the river trail from Hamilton (bikes hired from River Riders at Hamilton Gardens).
Breaking Bread served us excellent pots of tea (real tea leaves!). The ham and cheese pannini were pretty good too. Highly recommended as a place to take a break before heading back on the trail.

Stopped to get a drink to break up the drive. The staff were so welcoming that we stopped for an early lunch. My daughter is gluten intolerant, so the chef made her some gluten-free waffles with berries, grilled banana, and icecream. Almost wished I'd ordered that it was so good. Highly recommend if you're passing through.
We got takeaway but ate it there.

Went today, hoping for a nice meal by myself and just relax and enjoy the experience. Asked where I would like to be seated, and chose a two seater table and proceeded to take my seat and set my drink down on the table. A moment later, I jumped up and went to the bathroom. When I returned to my table, the was a sign placed on it with the following words crudely scrawled; “please do not sit down here” I was flabbergasted and shocked, wondering what on earth was going on. A rude server approached me and demanded that I sit at a table of which he was pointing at, with no sorry or explanation other than some nonsense about another party wanting that table at 12, which was 40 minutes away - long after I’d have left.
Utterly bizarre, and above all, utterly rude, embarrassing and in dignifying. I sat at my ‘new table’ thinking about the fact that this is probably the rudest experience at a Restaurant in my life. I insisted on a refund, and even then, had to be repetitive and firm. The cook overhead the exchange and rudely protested in an unprofessional manner so I could hear her, that the “fish and chips are cooked”, to which I responded, that’s too bad, I was just booted from my table. Absolutely worst service ever. Rude and ignorant beyond words. Unless there is a change of Management, I will never go back.
