My experience with Applefix has been disappointing.
While I’m satisfied with the service related to the job description (iPod repair), I’m deeply concerned about the lack of care shown by the technician toward my property. I’ve included two photos taken after receiving the device from the courier, which clearly show the damage. The third photo, taken by the technician during the repair process, shows no damage whatsoever.
I involved a legal team, but the emotional impact hit me harder—the music stored on that device listening made me change of heart. The store breached two consumer laws, yet I’m not seeking compensation—I’m seeking quality. Denial and lack of responsibility were the driving forces behind their response.
If you're considering using Applefix, I strongly caution you: know your rights as a consumer. Always take photos or videos of your device before handing it over. Otherwise, they may fabricate a story that doesn’t reflect reality. They do not provide a clear diagnostic job description, which means they can claim whatever they want without accountability.
I DO NOT RECOMMEND them unless you're absolutely desperate.
One star—for each job completed and paid for. Nothing more.

I recently had my Samsung S24 Ultra LCD screen repaired at Tech Engineers in Hamilton, and I couldn’t be happier! From start to finish, their service was fast, professional, and affordable.
They fixed my screen in under an hour without compromising on quality. Compared to other shops in Hamilton, their pricing was unbeatable.
The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and transparent about the process. If you need fast, reliable, and cost-effective phone repairs in Hamilton, Tech Engineers is the best choice!

I took my MacBook Air to AppleFix in August after the screen went black. They quickly replaced the screen for $500, but the exact same issue came back the very next day. When I contacted them, they became vague and defensive, refused to properly resolve the matter, and still had my laptop weeks later.
Through this experience, I learned some important lessons:
- AppleFix is not an authorised Apple repairer, so the parts and service aren’t held to Apple’s standard.
- They rushed into replacing the screen without doing proper diagnostics, which meant the real issue wasn’t fixed.
- When problems resurfaced, they showed poor accountability, offering no clear explanation, warranty process, or fair resolution.
Overall, fast service doesn’t equal quality service. I’d strongly recommend checking if a repair shop is Apple-verified and making sure diagnostics and warranty terms are clear before agreeing to any costly repairs :)

If only I could rate it no stars I would.
Took my partner's iPhone in on 14/06/2025 as it wasn't charging. They immediately said it was a battery issue. Dismantled the phone and replaced the battery with a third-party replacement battery without running a diagnostics test and charged $170. The phone still did not charge. it was only when we returned on 21/06/2025 to inform them that the phone was still not charging that they decided to run the diagnostics test which cost an extra $40. They said the phone would be ready in "a few days".
I returned on 23/06/2025 to check if the phone was ready, they responded saying that the phone would be ready by the "end of the week" and that they would call me.
30/06/2025 They called to say they had received the replacement part and that it required another 2 weeks to repair the phone. We declined and asked for the phone to be returned. The guy on the phone said that it will be ready to be picked up either later today or tomorrow after they have re-assembled the phone.
01/07/2025 We went back to the store to pick up the phone to which they said "the phone is actually not here, but in our workshop in Rotorua"
After returning home, I received a call saying that the phone was ready to be picked up. We were unable to pick up the phone straight away as we live an hour away from Hamilton.
02/07/2025 when my partner went to pick up her phone the guy said that they are the only shop in the area who can fix her phone and that it's no use looking elsewhere.
Very unprofessional and dodgy practice.
If you need to find an apple-authorized repair shop, search on apple.com and you'll find that there are clearly other shops in the area that are legitimately authorized to replace apple products.
